2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks
Today is the last day for Early Access for Nordstrom cardholders to the Anniversary Sale. What does that mean?
IT MEANS IT IS OPEN SEASON STARTING TOMORROW!!!
I do have to admit that I opened up a Nordstrom card on the 12th to gain early access for the sale and I tuned in 1 minute after the sale started only to find the Nordstrom website had crashed haha
I love myself a good Nordstrom sale – HELLOOO FREE SHIPPING! – and the Anniversary Sale is no exception!
I love a good deal from the clearance section, but I am also a firm believer in spending a little more money for quality and having staple items that last for years and years. I wholeheartedly believe that $200 on a good pair of shoes that will last you 10+ years is a much better deal than buying $20 shoes 10 times over in the course of 10 years or less – and you also don’t have to worry about your shoes cracking or falling apart!
If you feel the same way, then take a look at my picks from this year’s sale:
Sunglasses
Ray-Ban 51mm Polarized Round Sunglasses
Sale Price: $141.90 (normally $213.00)
Description: An arching brow bar highlights the old-school profile of round sunglasses fitted with glare-reducing polarized lenses.
My Take: These are absolutely gorgeous! They are perfect for summer – I’m thinking festival season!! – and I actually had them in my cart for a good bit before I finally removed them when I saw my total climbing and climbing! These are NOT your common Ray-Bans, and the fact that they are unique and beautiful is a huge part of my decision to have these as the first on my list!
Burberry 57mm Vintage Check Polarized Sunglasses
Sale Price: $190.90 (normally $285.00)
Description: Vintage checks, which date back to the ’60s, make a modern return on the temples of square sunglasses outfitted with glare-reducing polarized lenses.
My Take: I fell in love with these the second I saw them! They are on their way to me as we speak – I just couldn’t say no! I love love LOVE how retro they look with the checks on the arms as well as the thick, black frames. These are classics that will never go out of style and will add such a cool kick to any outfit.
Fendi 55mm Special Fit Round Sunglasses
Sale Price: $334.90 (normally $500.00)
Description: Triangular crystals and angular temples, two of Fendi’s distinctive signature details, glam up round sunglasses specially designed to fit wider face shapes.
My Take: These are SO COOL. When I saw these, I paused, scrolled past them, and then scrolled right back. These remind me of summer. They remind me of the desert. Festivals. Relaxation. Vacations. These are perfect for Coachella, a weekend getaway, or even just for tanning in your backyard!
Versace Medusa 60mm Crystal Shield Sunglasses
Sale Price: $240.90 (normally $360.00)
Description: Tiny crystals glitz up svelte, rimless shield sunglasses accented with gleaming Medusa logos.
My Take: I almost didn’t include this in my list. Honestly, my first thought was “How gaudy.” However, there is also nostalgia in these. Early 2000s nostalgia. I remember my first pair of designer sunglasses were a pair of Chanel mirror sunglasses that looked almost identical to these but had little C’s in place of the medusa logos. It was 2006 or 2007, and they didn’t do much for the sun but made me feel so fabulous.
Dior 52mm Round Sunglasses
Sale Price: $270.90 (normally $405.00)
Description: Rounded frames add a vintage vibe to stylish Italian sunglasses imbued with eye-catching color.
My Take: These remind me of something Bond, James Bond would wear. Sleek, beautiful, and indestructible. Well, I don’t know if they’re actually indestructible but they look so effortlessly cool.
Shoes
Ugg Scuffette II Slippers
Sale Price: $54.90 (normally $84.95)
Description: This comfy, water-resistant suede slipper is trimmed with shearling and lined with UGGpure, a textile made entirely from wool to look and feel like shearling.
My Take: Deny it all you want, but deep deep down you know you have a soft spot for Uggs. Call them ugly or whatever you want. I know I am guilty of that too, but I always come back to them. SO COMFY AND SO WARM. These are the perfect slippers for winter, spring, and all seasons in the house!
Jeffrey Campbell Raven Bootie
Sale Price: $79.90 – $99.90 (normally $124.95 – $159.95)
Description: Prepare to get your strut on in this streamlined bootie styled with a snug shaft, pointed toe and towering block heel.
My Take: The black heel is such a sleek, staple boot. It would look great with jeans, pants, skirts, you name it. I love a sleep, seamless look, and this is exactly it. However, the snake print is iconic. It will elevate and give some oomph to any outfit. Classic.
Cole Haan Lexi Grand Knee High Stretch Boots
Sale Price: $199.90 (normally $300.00)
Description: A stretchy panel at the shaft adds immediate interest to a sleek riding boot featuring signature Grand.OS technology for all-day comfort.
My Take: I am not a fan of this boot in its chestnut color, but I do like it in black. Cole Haan makes a good quality shoe in a good price range, and a classic knee-high boot is always necessary.
Paige Kingston Bootie
Sale Price: $259.90 (normally $395.00)
Description: Velvety suede shines with lustrous snakeskin print from this chic pointy-toe bootie offering a sleek take on the exotic animal trend that’s always in style.
My Take: Oh these are beautiful. Understated yet statement. An oxymoron but look at this shoe and you’ll get it. And you know Paige will stand by its quality.
Stuart Weitzman Alina Over the Knee Boots
Sale Price: $399.90 (normally $695.00)
Description: A chic lambskin leather over-the-knee boot features an exaggerated waved sole and a stretchy back panel that hugs your curves while ensuring a perfect fit.
My Take: I got a pair of Stuart Weitzman over-the-knee boots about 2.5 years ago, and I am still OBSESSED. The leather felt like butter out of the box, and it honestly still feels like that to this day! My recommendation is if you can get a great deal like this one – you need to get yourself a pair of these boots!! Or save up for them – definitely worth the investment. Classic, elegant, and the best quality!!!
Hunter Refined Short Gloss Rain Boots
Sale Price: $99.90 (normally $155.00)
Description: Comfort and sophistication come together in a glossy, watertight rubber boot finished with a traction-gripping sole.
My Take: A good rain boot is a classic and a MUST HAVE if there are any sort of seasons where you live. And, if you have ever been out in a cheap rain boot that cracked and you got a boot full of water, then you know exactly what I am talking about when I say a good quality rain boot is a necessity. I love my Hunter wellies for fall, spring, and winter. PERFECT for dog-walking when it’s rainy or snowy, and if your dog is anything like mine and loves snow it is perfect for stomping around and playing fetch with snowballs!
These are nice and short for when you don’t need over-the-knee coverage. And the white gloss is sleek and chic! While rain boots are great, rubber is stuffy and not the most comfortable thing to be stomping around in all day. I would keep it minimal too if possible!
Hunter Tour Packable Waterproof Rain Boots
Sale Price: $99.90 (normally $150.00)
Description: Stow and go with a lightweight rain boot built from natural, flexible rubber for rollaway packability.
My Take: The absolute classic. I am not 100% sure what makes this more packable – I can’t imagine a rubber boot would be that great for rolling up in a suitcase but hey if the shoe fits right? Anyways, these are a MUST HAVE in any closet for heavy rains and heavy snowstorms. These are perfect for when we have heavy snowfall and I am up to my knees in snow running around with my dang poodle who absolutely loves the snow! No wet feet, socks, or pants here!
Frye Carly Tall Boots
Sale Price: $249.90 (normally $397.95)
Description: A stepped topline refreshes a wardrobe-essential tall boot benchcrafted from richly burnished leather and grounded by a low stacked heel.
My Take: I have a pair of Frye Campus Boots that I have owned for 8 years now and still wear! Absolutely love them! SUCH HIGH QUALITY BOOTS. They have such a high reputation of workmanship for a reason. I highly recommend getting a pair especially when you can save a good bit of money with this sale! These are classic leather boots and could easily be worn everyday – and you know good leather ages well!
Frye Melissa Knotted Tall Boots
Sale Price: $249.90 (normally $397.95)
Description: A leather knot with a brushed-metal buckle lends on-trend style to a Frye riding boot bench-crafted from richly grained leather that gets softer and slouchier with wear. A pull-on tab tops the sleek silhouette, making it quick to get on and off.
My Take: These western boots are a twist between English and Western riding boot styles, and I love it. Sleek like English but the buckle gives it a little bit of a Western attitude. Classic but has a personality. Plus like I said above, the quality is unmatched.

Ugg Peppermint Grove Round Basket
Sale Price: $185.90 (normally $248.00)
Ugg Peppermint Grove Basket
Sale Price: $185.90 (normally $240.00)
Descriptions: Handwoven from banana bark, a double-handled basket with a rich, artisanal beauty makes an inviting and practical addition to any room.
My Take: These are perfect for a rustic chic living room. I easily can picture dog toys (or I guess regular children’s toys) in the rectangular basket tucked away under a table. Looks chic and keeps things organized. I love the woven basket look. It is a very earthy-chic touch.
Serene House Corona Teardrop Scentilizer Diffuser
Sale Price: $39.90 (normally $59.99)
Description: This teardrop-shaped diffuser offers an innovative take on classic design while adding a sophisticated element to your home décor.
My Take: This is chic diffuser, and I love anything that you can use to relax after a long day. I love using eucalyptus oil in my diffuser – such a calming scent!
Accessories
Degs & Sal Hammered Dog Tag Necklace
Sale Price: $129.90 (normally $195.00)
Description: Weathered vintage appeal defines a head-turning necklace handcrafted in Italy from fine, 24-karat gold-plated sterling silver.
My Take: A dog tag necklace is a classic, and the hammered texture gives it an extra bit of edge while the 24k gold gives it elegance. I love a good oxymoron piece.
Degs & Sal Leather Wrap Bracelet
Sale Price: $72.90 (normally $110.00)
Description: A touch of crisp sterling silver defines a handsome bracelet handcrafted in Italy from rich braided leather.
My Take: I love these leather braided bracelets. They are rugged classics, and you can’t say no to a good quality classic accessory. Robert actually has one on his keys as kind of a key fob and I love it!
Clothing
I have always been more of a splurge-on-accessories kind of gal, so this will be the smallest section here. But as always, I still value good quality, classic items that can be worn for years to come (and look amazing each time!)
Tibi Funnel Neck Top
Sale Price: $166.90 (normally $250.00)
Description: The clean lines of this minimalist tank cinched along the back hem effuse modern, architectural elegance.
My Take: Tibi is always a good choice for a classic, clean look. This is a perfect top for your inner minimalist. It would be great for work as well as out on the town. It can be worn an endless number of ways and is even a perfect layering piece as well for cooler months.
Spanx Faux Leather Leggings
Sale Price: $64.90 (normally $98.00)
Description: A slick finish adds extra edge to stretchy faux-leather leggings flattered by a subtle control top.
My Take: The Spanx name gives us a good idea of how well these are going to hold you “in”. Always a nice added bonus. Leather pants are a classic, and you’ll need a pair of these in your closet for those edgy looks you have always dreamed of.
Let me know about any gems you might find in the sale! I’d love to find out about the goodies you all score!
